How We Work

Every outdoor space is unique and has potential, and the objective remains the same: creating thoughtful outdoor environments that support how people live, gather, and experience a space.

Unlocking it takes more than a good idea — it takes a clear process, honest planning, and the right expertise at each stage of the journey.

At Mossfield Design, our services are designed to move at your pace. Each stage builds naturally on the last, but you decide how far you want to go. Whether you're exploring possibilities for the first time or ready to bring a fully realized vision to life, there's a place to start.

Is Mossfield the Right Fit?

Every project begins with a conversation. This complimentary call is an opportunity to share your goals, ask questions, and get a sense of how we work. There's no obligation and no pressure — just an honest discussion about what you're hoping to achieve and whether Mossfield Design is the right partner to help you get there.

Property Vision Session

Starting at $250

What's Possible?

Before any design work begins, we come to you. During the Property Vision Session, we visit your property, walk the space together, and take the time to understand how you live, how you use your outdoor areas, and what you'd love them to become.

This session is about possibilities, identifying opportunities, acknowledging constraints, and beginning to shape a shared direction for the project.

What You’ll Receive

  • On-site property visit

  • Opportunity and constraint assessment

  • Vision summary capturing key goals and direction

  • Rough concept sketches

  • Recommended next steps tailored to your property and goals

Concept Landscape Design

Starting at $1,000

What Should It Look Like?

With a clear vision in place, we translate ideas into something you can see. The Concept Landscape Design stage brings your outdoor space to life through plans, sketches, and visual concepts, giving you a tangible picture of what your property could become.

This is where function and beauty come together. Every element is considered not just for how it looks, but for how it works, how people move through the space, where gatherings happen naturally, how the design evolves across seasons and years.

What You’ll Receive

  • Concept plan and spatial layout

  • Spatial organization and flow

  • Material and finish direction

  • Renderings and visual concepts

  • Design presentation walkthrough

Property Master Plan

Quoted based on project scope

How Do We Make It Happen?

Most meaningful landscape transformations don't happen all at once, and they don't need to. The Property Master Plan takes your concept design and turns it into a practical, phased roadmap that fits your budget, your timeline, and your life.

We organize the full scope of work into logical sequences, prioritizing what matters most to you now while protecting the integrity of the long-term vision. If your children need a play area this summer, that comes first. If a new patio can wait until next season without compromising future plans, we'll map that out clearly.

The result is a plan that lets you move forward with confidence, one phase at a time, without costly decisions that create problems down the road.

Deliverables

  • Full project phasing strategy

  • Budget framework and considerations

  • Priority sequencing based on your needs and construction logic

  • Long-term property roadmap

  • Implementation recommendations

Implementation

Quoted based on project scope

Bringing the Vision to Life

A great design is only as good as its execution. That's where implementation support becomes one of the most valuable parts of the process — and one of the most overlooked.

Managing a landscaping project without support can be overwhelming. Coordinating contractors, tracking progress, navigating unexpected challenges, and ensuring the original vision isn't lost along the way is a significant undertaking for most homeowners. Implementation support means you don't have to do that alone.

For select projects, Mossfield Design provides hands-on project management through the build phase. This means regular site visits to monitor progress, direct communication with contractors on your behalf, proactive identification of issues before they become costly problems, and consistent alignment between what was designed and what is being built.

You stay informed without being in the weeds. Decisions that need your input come to you clearly and without confusion. And the people doing the work are held accountable to the plan.

Whether the contractors are ones we've worked with before, part of our trusted network, or ones you've sourced yourself, our role remains the same — to protect your investment, honour the design intent, and make sure the finished space reflects the vision you signed off on from the beginning.

Their attention to detail and commitment to quality truly stood out. We’ve already recommended them to others.
